The Half Marathon
8:00 a.m. Start
This flat and fast USATF certified race starts at 8 am. Our Half Marathon is great for veteran runners, as well as first-timers, and has for many, become one of their favorites.
Along the course you will be encouraged and supported by local spectators, volunteers, and cheer-squads. You’ll be motivated musically by the many bands we have lined up along the race.
This point to point course starts at the historic Santa Claus off of the 101 freeway, runs through Oxnard’s famous strawberry fields, then through downtown Oxnard and beautiful Plaza Park. Next will be historic Candy Cane Lane, where the homes are decorated for the holidays. Finally, you’re off to the Pacific Ocean, the beach, and finishing at the Marine Emporium Landing in the Channel Islands Harbor.
Water Stations:
Water will be provided at the starting line. Water and Gatorade will be provided every 2 miles along the course, and also at the finish line.
Finishers Medals
Each runner will receive a collectable finisher’s medal after crossing the Finish Line.

COMING
CORRALS
Due to the growing number of participants, in 2013 we will be using corrals (staggered group starts) at the Starting Line. We will ask you line up in your designated corral arranged by your predicted finish time. If you are new to the Half Marathon or relay, we ask that you line up near the middle to back-end of the start. This allows the experienced and faster runners a clear path, while, ensuring the safety of all involved.
Corral 1: 1:30–1:45 finish time (9:30–9:45 am)
Corral 2: 1:46–2:10 finish time (9:46–10:10 am)
Corral 3: 2:11–2:30 finish time (10:11–10:30 am )
Corral 4: 2:31 & above (10:30 am until closing at noon)
PACE GROUPS
Santa to the Sea will be providing pace groups for the Half Marathon only. Each group will be led by an experienced runner who will keep you on track for your finish time.
The pace groups are free for all registered runners. On race day, the pace leaders will be carrying signs with their designated pace time on it. Just look for your pacer, follow behind them. You do not need to sign up for a pace group.
Pace times are:
1:30, 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20 & 2:30.
TOY DRIVE - Important - As a part of the Santa to the Sea Tradition
We ask that all runners please bring an UNWRAPPED toy of at least $10 in value to the event. There will be a toy drop area for all 5K runners near the finish line at the Marine Emporium Landing for you to drop your toy at before the race begins.
Though this is a toy drive, we have many infants (ages 0–6 months) that need sleepers and clothing. We also have many older children who need gifts as well so please don’t forget them. For our teen girls…clothing, makeup, curling irons, jewelry, etc. are great gifts. For our teen boys…gift cards to food places, Target, Wal-Mart, etc. are perfect for them.
