The Santa to the Sea Half Marathon & Relay is a fundraiser to help raise money and to collect toys for underprivileged children throughout Ventura County.
All proceeds will be donated to the fundraiser and toy drive. This event will bring many people from far and wide to the city of Oxnard and will help local children. The race will start at the giant Santa in Nyeland Acres at Santa Park
( pictured top left ) and finish at the Channel Islands Harbor in front of the Marine Emporium Landing on Sunday December 13th, 2009. This event will bring the community closer together while helping those who need it most, the children. Our goal is to help Santa bring a toy to over 1500 underprivileged children this year at the 6th annual toy giveaway at Santa Park the Saturday before Christmas, December 19th, 2009. The Half Marathon
The race will start at 8:00 a.m. in front of the Giant Santa off the 101 freeway and the Del Norte exit in Oxnard, CA.
At the start of the race, athletes are asked to come to the starting line with an unwrapped toy (of at least a $10 Value). The athletes will run through the outskirts of Oxnard along the famous Oxnard strawberry fields, wind through the city, and head straight to the beach!
This is a flat and fast course.
The Relay
2 Man Relay
Each person runs 6.55 miles.
Open to 2 runner relay teams.
